And then their were witches

Last year we had a witches night out and it was so much fun I had to make it a tradition so here we are again witching it up.

We started the evening off at Claim Jumper, where we got some of the funniest looks followed by an older man that had to come and see if their really was a table full of witches. It was so great.

Then we were off to play a game of Digital Scavenger Hunt

CIMG5777

Here are the teams

CIMG5787

We had to find someone in costume not sure which on is better the “so called guy dressed like an officer” hahahaha or the m&m with the witches hat. We were both pretty desperate.

CIMG5790

The #13

CIMG5788

A gas station clerk.

On the list we were suppose to get a picture outside the cemetery and of course Laura’s time actually did it. (good for you girls)

CIMG5793

We also were suppose to go to Ikea and get a picture with the group all on one of the beds in their sample rooms but Ikea was closed…… But of course Laura’s team stepped it up and found a bed anyway.

CIMG5798

I don’t have the other teams pictures for the next two but they were great.

We needed to get a picture of a Zombieland cut out or poster but the theater didn’t have one cause they take them down after the movie is playing so we took a picture of the title (Look up)

But Laura’s team went to another theater talked to a manager and got him to find them one in the back and yes they got a picture with a Zombieland poster.

something with a Twilight cast member on it. Laura’s team also got this one but it is on a different camera.

CIMG5792

The word Halloween

CIMG5795

Something Gross

A witch of some sort other than ourselves. The other teams picture of this they were asked not to publish the pictures anywhere. So you don’t get to see theirs sorry. ( don’t tell but it wasn’t that great anyway.)

CIMG5799

A blow up Halloween decoration

 CIMG5796

and last but not least a Jack-o-Lantern

(ours was better it was real.)

It was a great evening lots of fun and lots of crazy looks. But it was so worth it.

HAWAII 2009

I have to first start off by saying sorry for all the pictures I just love my kids and love taking pictures of them and could decide which ones to post.

Here we go again. Shad and I  had so much fun last year just the two of us we thought that it would be really fun to share the experience with the kids this time and let me tell you it was a blast.  When we got to the hotel we got in are swimming suits right away cause our room was not ready cause we got upgraded so we didn’t really have any other option then to go swimming which was just fine. The nice lady down in the storage room were they were holding our luggage offered the kids boggy boards that had been left behind to play on and they were pretty excited.

IMG_0523 IMG_0522 IMG_0524

IMG_0525 IMG_0528

This is a fun little sandy kiddy pool that is attached to the swimming pool. The kids spent most of the time in it it was Gavin’s favorite place to play.

IMG_0533

This is another place that Gavin like to hang out. Just to the left their is a boat stop to go to the other side of the hotel and every time we came down from our room Gavin would run over to the side of the water and lay down and watch the fish. He was very fascinated by them.

IMG_0536 IMG_0543 IMG_0546

If we were in the hotel room this is were I would find the kids. Gavin playing with his trains of his V smile. And Katie believe it or not doing homework or coloring. Or they would both be watching the dolphins.

IMG_0553

This is the view from our room. It was gorgeous.

IMG_0556IMG_0619

This water area is where you can swim with the dolphins( if you pay an arm and leg for it). My kids loved that they could just sit on the balcony and watch them swim all day.

 IMG_0554 IMG_0555 IMG_0617 IMG_0616 IMG_0560

To “the Beach” it is a man made lagoon. Since the dry part of the island is full of volcanic rock they had to make their own beach for the resort so you could still have that feeling of being on the beach even though you weren’t. Anyhow it works the kids loved it.

IMG_0567

Ok so Katie is getting ready to snorkel……

IMG_0570

Got all the gear on……..

IMG_0573

Walking backward to get in the water…….

IMG_0577

Yeap that is as far as she got. She got a little scared and decided not to do it. But at least she tried right?!!!

Shad ended up going out for awhile tried to take some pictures but the water was just to murky and none of them turn out.

The kids were quick to find him when he got close enough and thought it would be fun to ride on his back.

IMG_0589

Shad thought it would be fun to give them a little scare.

IMG_0591

Then we headed to the other pools that had the little slides that the kids could go on. But first Shad had to try out the big slide and see if he could talk Katie into going down it, but no luck.

IMG_0597

So on to the smaller slides.

IMG_0602 IMG_0604

You maybe wondering what this picture is of, but if you look really really closely you may see hundreds of birds. These birds together were the loudest things you ever heard. Every morning at 5am they were wide awake a chirping. They woke my kids up almost every morning at 5AM. I wanted to kill them (the birds). I am on vacation I am not supposed to be up at 5am.   IMG_0612

Sunday we decided to take a drive to the wet side of the island. We went to the Akaka Falls and it was so beautiful and green.

IMG_0689  IMG_0629 IMG_0632 IMG_0636

These trees were amazing looking they had so many trunks and branches coming out of everywhere it was very interesting.

IMG_0633 IMG_0635 IMG_0640 IMG_0642 IMG_0645 IMG_0646

This tree was also very neat looking. It had all these leaves growing up it and then at the top the braches canopied out and looked like a great big mushroom.

IMG_0648

IMG_0650

IMG_0653

IMG_0665

The flowers were so pretty they were very colorful and bright.

IMG_0672 IMG_0671 IMG_0674IMG_0678

And the little waterfalls were  just beautiful.

IMG_0675  IMG_0680 IMG_0682

We got a convertible car cause we thought that the kids would like that. The 1st time we put the hood down I wish I would have had my camera to take a picture of Gavin’s face he was in awe. He thought that was the coolest thing ever. So on are drive we had it down for awhile till it started to rain then we would put it back up, then we would put it back down, Gavin just loved it.

IMG_0694  IMG_0691 IMG_0693

We stopped of the side of the road and took so great pictures of the ocean it was a very different look on this side of the island.

IMG_0704 IMG_0705

Back at the hotel after breakfast we decided to take to scenic route to the pool.

IMG_0706

IMG_0710

IMG_0712 IMG_0714 IMG_0720

We got a couple of drinks and the kids downed there’s in seconds

IMG_0722 IMG_0732 IMG_0734

after a long day of swimming the kids were still not done. We had been in the room for a few hours and they were ready to go again. So off we went back down to the pool and the kids thought it was so much fun swimming in the dark

IMG_0737 IMG_0755 IMG_0744 IMG_0747 IMG_0746

I wasn’t going to complain it was a beautiful evening.

 IMG_0743 IMG_0757 IMG_0758

We took the kids paddle boating and saw lot of fun fish.

IMG_0760 IMG_0761

Then back to the kiddy pool to play on the boggy boards

IMG_0783 IMG_0777

IMG_0784 IMG_0788 IMG_0789

Ok so if you remember at the beginning of the trip shad tried to get Katie to go down the bigger slides and we had no luck well of course as you might have guessed it is are last day and she finally get the courage to go down the slide to see if she likes it. And……… She loved it and we could not get her to stop going down which I loved. unfortunately the camera died before we got one of her going down the really big slide but she loved that one too and could have stayed there all day.

IMG_0802 IMG_0794 IMG_0796 IMG_0797 IMG_0808 IMG_0805 IMG_0814 IMG_0813 IMG_0815 IMG_0819 IMG_0821

IMG_0824

Last year Shad and I took a picture of us by our Chinese animal sign and Katie wanted to make sure that she got a picture of her by her animal which is the horse.  And Gavin is a Dog

IMG_0826IMG_0790IMG_0827

Well it is time to go home we have a tons of fun and are very sad to be leaving I think Gavin could have stayed a while longer he loved riding the train and the boat.

IMG_0828

Katie had a pretty good time too but I think she was ready to get back.

IMG_0829 IMG_0831

Katie and I went to a bead a shell class and made the necklace that we are wearing. It was lots if fun to spend time with Katie making the necklace it was something I will always remember.

IMG_0833

Well that was Hawaii in kind of a nut shell, it was lot of fun and I am glad we got to do it and that we got to share it with our kids it will be a great memory for them to look back on. Thanks to my wonderful husband who works so hard and made it possible for us to take this wonderful trip. I sure do love you Shad.

Boy or Girl

Ok so for  you that have  not heard yet my family has finally decided to grow. YES we are having a baby. We found out in June that we were pregnant we were very excited though we kept it to ourselves  until August just to make sure that everything was ok.

On the 17th we found out what we were having and I wanted to do something fun for the kids to tell them, so I made a baby bag and put different things in it that were the color of the gender baby we were having. Pink for girl Blue for boy.

Yeap we are having another little boy due on the 2nd of February. We are just thrilled, well Katie is not to sure that she is (as you might tell from the last picture) she wanted a baby girl very badly and Gavin is just having a hard time with the idea of having a baby.  Every time we talk about the baby or ask him if he is going to be a brother he just says no. He tells me that I can have a baby and Katie can have a baby and daddy can have a baby but Gavin’s not having a baby. He is so funny he also does not want to share his room with baby he tells us that the baby can sleep with Katie. He is just not caring to much about baby right now. We are working on him, and hopefully he will come around. But as for now all is well I am feeling great, the belly is starting to poke out, as to be expected right. And we are looking forward to February.

The past 2 weeks

Erin and Jordan(Shad’s twin sister and brother in law) got to come and spend a few weeks out here with us cause Jordan in is doing rotations and is in Fort Lewis right now so while Jordan was working Erin and I and the boys got to play all day long it was really fun for Gavin and Beckham to get to know each other that is while they were getting along. But anyhow here is a few thing we did while they were here. We headed down to Seattle and walked the waterfront. And of course played in the water.

Then headed up to Pike Place

If you haven’t been to Pike Place they have the most gorgeous flowers all year long.

Then miss Katie spotted a bakery that had giant cookies and she just had to have one. (if you notice in the pictures above Katie is longing kind of sad.) So I bought the cookies in hopes that it would make her a tiny bit happy. I think it might have worked.

Then of course we ended the day on the carousel the kids love it.

IMG_0374

Saturday night we played some lips on the Xbox it was pretty fun watching us all get into it but the best was Shad and Jordan. They finally had to stop cause they could no longer hit the notes cause they had been straining they voices for over an hour singing.

Oh the Puyallup Fair. It was great fun walking around eating fair food and listening to the kids repeating the same thing over and over…. Can we go on that ride…. can we play that game… over and over. You got to love it.

  IMG_0465 IMG_0463IMG_0467 IMG_0471

At the end of the night I think they were very happy. And very exhausted. They all fell asleep on the way home. What a great night.

Sunday was Stake Conference and I hate to admit it but we ditched out and went and had a picnic with the kids. We went to Snoqualmie falls cause Erin and Jordan had not been there but that place is in major construction so we weren’t there very long so we headed to a park were the kids got to run off some energy and enjoy the beautiful day.

IMG_0476   IMG_0486They even managed to get the dads involved.IMG_0495 IMG_0479

IMG_0487 IMG_0488 IMG_0499

Well unfortunately the fun had to come to an end. Erin and Beckham had to get back home and get back to the real life. So now Gavin and I are all alone now during the day and have to come up with fun things do again without their just being a buddy around to play with 24/7.

Here’s a little bit more of our summer Ward camp out at Zions

Gavin and his two best buddies

IMG_0099

We had a ward kick ball game girls against boys, pretty sure the girls won!!

IMG_0109IMG_0115IMG_0124

This is my neighbor Amy not sure how the shot was taken at just the right time but she must have done something great!!!!

IMG_0119

  IMG_0133IMG_0142

I told the boys to put their arms around each other and this is what they did.

IMG_0150

They finally got it.

IMG_0151 IMG_0154

We attempted that was about all

IMG_0164 IMG_0165

You have got to love when people don’t know they are getting their picture taken

IMG_0170 IMG_0187 IMG_0197

Helping Katie with her archery skills

IMG_0205

IMG_0207

IMG_0211

Last but not least we made it down to the water were it started as just some good old fishing……

IMG_0218

IMG_0221

Then the life jackets and boats came out…..

 IMG_0224 IMG_0228

then the water fun. It was not a warm day in fact it had been misting and was pretty cold. But that won’t stop the boys big or little.

IMG_0244 IMG_0249

Boys will be boys.

IMG_0252

Oh and the girls decided they needed in on the fun

IMG_0255

My little Gavin who really is not that fond of the water likes to push the limits. He always seems to go in a little farther then he should and when trying to come back almost trips and falls luckly for him he hasn’t yet.

IMG_0258

We had a great time at the ward campout and were very exhausted on the way home the kids both fell asleep and sleep the rest of the night. Lucky me!!!

The girls are making ice cream in a bag. It was so fun to watch them cause their hands were freezing by the time they were done.

CIMG5482 CIMG5491 CIMG5495 CIMG5497

The Polar Bear dip at 6:15 in the morning Makayla White and I were ones willing to get up and take the challenge. Until the next morning Sarah Straight decided to gone us knowing that she was not going to get the bead. But they told her that if she double dipped then she would bet the bead, so Makayla and I told her we would do it with her so we all headed back to the dock and jumped one more time. It was tons of fun.

CIMG5498 CIMG5500

The girls found a friend in our cabin

And what a better way to end camp then with some snip hunting and tooth past all over your face.

CIMG5519IMG_4052

I had a blast getting to know the girls. YW camp is awesome and I hope I get to do it again next year.
