I have to first start off by saying sorry for all the pictures I just love my kids and love taking pictures of them and could decide which ones to post.
Here we go again. Shad and I had so much fun last year just the two of us we thought that it would be really fun to share the experience with the kids this time and let me tell you it was a blast. When we got to the hotel we got in are swimming suits right away cause our room was not ready cause we got upgraded so we didn’t really have any other option then to go swimming which was just fine. The nice lady down in the storage room were they were holding our luggage offered the kids boggy boards that had been left behind to play on and they were pretty excited.
This is a fun little sandy kiddy pool that is attached to the swimming pool. The kids spent most of the time in it it was Gavin’s favorite place to play.
This is another place that Gavin like to hang out. Just to the left their is a boat stop to go to the other side of the hotel and every time we came down from our room Gavin would run over to the side of the water and lay down and watch the fish. He was very fascinated by them.
If we were in the hotel room this is were I would find the kids. Gavin playing with his trains of his V smile. And Katie believe it or not doing homework or coloring. Or they would both be watching the dolphins.
This is the view from our room. It was gorgeous.

This water area is where you can swim with the dolphins( if you pay an arm and leg for it). My kids loved that they could just sit on the balcony and watch them swim all day.
To “the Beach” it is a man made lagoon. Since the dry part of the island is full of volcanic rock they had to make their own beach for the resort so you could still have that feeling of being on the beach even though you weren’t. Anyhow it works the kids loved it.
Ok so Katie is getting ready to snorkel……
Got all the gear on……..
Walking backward to get in the water…….
Yeap that is as far as she got. She got a little scared and decided not to do it. But at least she tried right?!!!
Shad ended up going out for awhile tried to take some pictures but the water was just to murky and none of them turn out.
The kids were quick to find him when he got close enough and thought it would be fun to ride on his back.
Shad thought it would be fun to give them a little scare.
Then we headed to the other pools that had the little slides that the kids could go on. But first Shad had to try out the big slide and see if he could talk Katie into going down it, but no luck.
So on to the smaller slides.
You maybe wondering what this picture is of, but if you look really really closely you may see hundreds of birds. These birds together were the loudest things you ever heard. Every morning at 5am they were wide awake a chirping. They woke my kids up almost every morning at 5AM. I wanted to kill them (the birds). I am on vacation I am not supposed to be up at 5am.
Sunday we decided to take a drive to the wet side of the island. We went to the Akaka Falls and it was so beautiful and green.
These trees were amazing looking they had so many trunks and branches coming out of everywhere it was very interesting.
This tree was also very neat looking. It had all these leaves growing up it and then at the top the braches canopied out and looked like a great big mushroom.

The flowers were so pretty they were very colorful and bright.

And the little waterfalls were just beautiful.

We got a convertible car cause we thought that the kids would like that. The 1st time we put the hood down I wish I would have had my camera to take a picture of Gavin’s face he was in awe. He thought that was the coolest thing ever. So on are drive we had it down for awhile till it started to rain then we would put it back up, then we would put it back down, Gavin just loved it.
We stopped of the side of the road and took so great pictures of the ocean it was a very different look on this side of the island.
Back at the hotel after breakfast we decided to take to scenic route to the pool.
We got a couple of drinks and the kids downed there’s in seconds
after a long day of swimming the kids were still not done. We had been in the room for a few hours and they were ready to go again. So off we went back down to the pool and the kids thought it was so much fun swimming in the dark
I wasn’t going to complain it was a beautiful evening.
We took the kids paddle boating and saw lot of fun fish.
Then back to the kiddy pool to play on the boggy boards
Ok so if you remember at the beginning of the trip shad tried to get Katie to go down the bigger slides and we had no luck well of course as you might have guessed it is are last day and she finally get the courage to go down the slide to see if she likes it. And……… She loved it and we could not get her to stop going down which I loved. unfortunately the camera died before we got one of her going down the really big slide but she loved that one too and could have stayed there all day.
Last year Shad and I took a picture of us by our Chinese animal sign and Katie wanted to make sure that she got a picture of her by her animal which is the horse. And Gavin is a Dog

Well it is time to go home we have a tons of fun and are very sad to be leaving I think Gavin could have stayed a while longer he loved riding the train and the boat.
Katie had a pretty good time too but I think she was ready to get back.
Katie and I went to a bead a shell class and made the necklace that we are wearing. It was lots if fun to spend time with Katie making the necklace it was something I will always remember.
Well that was Hawaii in kind of a nut shell, it was lot of fun and I am glad we got to do it and that we got to share it with our kids it will be a great memory for them to look back on. Thanks to my wonderful husband who works so hard and made it possible for us to take this wonderful trip. I sure do love you Shad.
